The Dev Labs
TDL·04Cookies

What we collect.

The short version: we record which pages and links get used so we can make the platform better. While you are signed in, that activity is linked to your account. Nothing is recorded until you say yes.

The cookies we set

All of them are first-party, set on .thedevlabs.io. We run no third-party analytics or advertising script, so no other company receives your browsing on this site.

td_consent

Remembers whether you accepted or declined, and which version of this policy you were shown. Essential - it is what stops us asking on every page.

1 year
td_anon

A random id with nothing in it derived from you or your device. It only exists so three pages in one visit can be told apart from three separate visitors. Set only if you accept.

1 year
td_session

Keeps you signed in across the marketing site, the community and the learning portal. Essential, and set only once you sign in.

What we record

Only if you accept. If you choose essential only, none of this is collected and the site works exactly the same.

  • Pages you open and links you click

The address of the page, and where a link pointed. Query strings are removed before anything is stored.

  • Where you arrived from

The site that linked you here, reduced to its domain name - "google.com", never the full address you came from.

  • Your account, while you are signed in

The activity above is linked to your Dev Labs account, so we can see how members actually use the platform and improve it. Signed out, it is linked only to the random id above.

  • Your country

Derived coarsely from the connection by Cloudflare. We do not store your IP address.

We never record the contents of a form you have not submitted, and we strip query strings from the page addresses we store, so search terms and anything else passed in a URL are discarded before they reach us.

Changing your mind

Your choice is remembered for a year, and applies across the marketing site, the community and the learning portal, because they share one decision. You can change it at any time.

Clearing your browser's cookies for this site also clears the decision, and you will be asked again on your next visit.
